Zhejiang DeFever Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd was founded in Zhou Shan Economic Development Zone in Mach, 2013. After preliminary research and development of the world’s latest yacht design and construction technology, the company was officially registered on June 30th, 2014 and operated as a new-tech company specialized in Design, Manufacture and Sales of luxury yachts.
 
Jimmy Ma, chairman of the board, has been doing business in the global yacht industry for over 42 years. In 1973, he started his trading business by running a freight-forwarding company. Later, he cooperated with several U.S. yacht importers and founded the first yacht exporting company in Taiwan. During this process, he developed a strong interest and gained rich experience in the yacht industry.  In 1982 he founded his first marine hardware importing company – White Water Marine Hardware, Inc. in Clearwater, Florida, U.S.A. to supply marine hardware to all the yacht manufacturers on the east coast of United States. In 1994, he founded another marine hardware importing company – Marine Depot, Inc. in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. to meet the greater demand of the part vendors and in 1998 began selling international brand name yacht equipment to Chinese yacht builders. Up to this day,  Jimmy has successfully established  a marine hardware fabrication plant in Kunshan, Jiangsu, a marine hardware foundry in Xinghua, Jiangsu, and marine hardware import, sales, service companies on both east and west coasts of the United States. He single-handedly created an international marine hardware supply and sales chain and realized the vertical integration of the marine hardware industry. Now he’s on the ultimate quest for the crown jewel of yacht industry – yacht manufacturing, sales and services.
 
In 1994, Jimmy put great faith in the Chinese yacht market and founded his first yacht manufacturing company - Dafeng Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd. in Fuzhou, Fujian, China, as he became the second Taiwanese investor in the Chinese yacht industry. Dafeng Yachts Indsutrial Co., Ltd later became the first Chinese yacht builder who exported yachts to the United States and whose build quality was recognized and accepted by the U.S. market. As the Chinese reform and opening policy bore fruits in Shanghai, Jimmy founded his second yacht manufacturing company in Shanghai Minhang District – Shanghai DeFever Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd. Ever since the establishments of these two companies, Jimmy has trained a large number of yacht building technicians and skilled workers while exported numerous high quality luxurious yachts to various international markets. In the beginning of 2004, given his abundant investment experience in prior yacht companies and marine hardware companies, as well as the general development of Chinese yachting market, Jimmy decided to open up his third yacht manufacturing company – Shanghai Heritage Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd. Besides the manufacturing and sales of yachts and marine hardware, he also founded Shanghai Transworld Enterprises Ltd in 2004 to engage in the trading business of yacht related products. Due to his exceptional contribution to the Chinese yacht industry, in December 2011 Jimmy was awarded the membership of National Conducting Committee of Yacht Experts in which he was the only member from out of the country.
 
Over the 42 years that Jimmy dedicated himself to the global yacht industry, he has been perseveringly and decisively marching towards the goal of fostering Chinese yacht market and boosting the Chinese yacht industry to the top of the world. When Zhoushan Archipelago was designated as the National New Economic Development Zone in recent years, Jimmy keenly sensed its great potential to become one of the most famous yachting centers in China, hence decided to seize this opportunity and invest in this area by opening up a comprehensive yacht design, manufacturing, sales, and repair company – Zhejiang DeFever Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd.
 
Zhejiang DeFever Yachts Industrial Co., Ltd has a registered capital of 20 million RMB and is located in the Zhoushan Economic Development Zone, with a factory plant area of over six thousand square meters, an independent warehouse and four 5-ton overhead cranes. The company currently has over 38 employees, among which are nine highly skilled technicians and two senior American yacht designers.
 
So far the company has developed an 18-foot sport catamaran, a 30-foot race boat, and various 46 to 57-foot luxury pilothouse trawler yachts, which are exported mostly to the European markets and secondly to the North American, Southeast Asian and Australian markets. In 2015, after one year of thorough study of the international, Chinese domestic and Zhoushan local yacht markets and sport fishing cultures, the company decided to develop a 36-foot multi-functional leisure fishing express cruiser yacht, a 60-foot luxury flybridge sedan and a 60-foot flybridge pilothouse in order to meet the demands of the traditional international yacht markets and the growing Chinese domestic yacht market as well as the exploitation of oceanic tourism by Zhoushan government. The company has also introduced the concept of high quality & high efficiency production method of American Cutwater Boats to ensure the build craftsmanship standard and improve product reliability so that all the buyers can truly enjoy the yachts made in Zhoushan, China.
 
In the meantime, the company is actively seeking for an opportunity to develop an international standard yacht marina of certain scale in the Zhoushan area that can provide yacht chartering, crew training, and game hosting services in order to cultivate a local yachting community, which is perfectly aligned with the government’s goal to expand its tourism industry, bolster the city’s image and increase its international recognition. As of today, this project has progressed to the stage of site selections and conceptual proposals.
